Our Intelligence at work

We have a major security hole, proven by a simple researcher using a fake account on many of the more popular social media networks.

Robin Sage is a non-existent person created for an experiment by security researcher Thomas Ryan.

Listed as a pretty 25 year old, a MIT graduate, and security hacker for 10 years (she started when she was 14) it was only a matter of hours before she had over 300 “friends” from her accounts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other services.

Many of her friends solicited were in the Intelligence dept, DOD, and Military Operational Security. It was not long at all when requests for documents were asked and given, along with GPS codes of locations of Military persons.

You can read more about it here, here, and here.

The Peter Principle working at its best.
