Le-e-eaving, on a Jet Plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again.

Finally, the combat troops are leaving Iraq, and remaining behind are 50,000 non-combative troops to help continue training and support the Iraqi Administration in power.

My opinion – it was all done purely for politics and a waste of lives on all sides. I was against us going into Iraq from day 1, I always said there were no WMDs, and Saddam could not possibly move all they said he had on a daily basis to thwart the investigative noses of UN inspectors.

I’m glad we are out, I hope everyone learned war does not pay, and I dearly hope we never go into another one, especially when there is no solid proof of wrong-doing.

I’m not sure what the real reason for going there, but it wasn’t what they said it was.

On another thought, RIP Norma. May you now get the peace you need.

  1. Dale says:

We went there to prevent a regional competitor and to protect Israel and to establish a land base in the middle of western Asia. These were not the public reasons but the reasons none-the-less.
